Days 5
and 6
Split Canyon Falls: Rappelling,
Night Jungle
Walk,
Horseback Riding 8 km. through jungle,
River White Water Rafting
- Located 45 min. of true 4 wheel
drive above Londress, a quaint little Costa Rica jungle town. We
will pass by a 360 foot waterfall and just slow down because that is
not it!!
- When we hear this great roar we
stop, walk in, and cross a 120 meter suspension bridge to a
restaurant and cabinas. Remember, we are in
the middle of the jungle. Look around you and you will see a U
shaped canyon with water falls of 250 feet to 120 feet all around
you.
There is a peninsula in the middle of this canyon and that is where
the restaurant is located where we enjoy breakfast.
- After breakfast we can walk in
about 10 minutes to Rappel a 300 foot waterfall (beginners are
welcome). This is safe with our guides.
For those who do not want to rappel, you can just walk on the 5
different trails.

- Mount your horse: 1- 8 km. through
the jungle to Rio Savegre. 1/2 way - what a view! Even though we are
in the jungle way up in the mountains, there is a clearing with a
view north to Jaco Beach (50 miles) and south to Isla Del Cano (57
miles) - in other words - a view of almost all of the Central
Pacific Coast.
- Once to Rio Savegre, we dismount
and cross the river by a 2 man gondola (that is a thrill). We will
meet up with the river rafting company and down we come class 4, 3,
2, and 1 rapids on the clearest river in Central America through
jungle.
